About the Author

A picture of the author Rev. Michael White holds an associate's degree from Wallace Community College in Dothan, Alabama, a dual baccalaureate degree in English and history from Troy State University in Troy, Alabama, and a Master of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology, Emory University, in Atlanta, Georgia. He served 12 years as a pastor, while simultaneously serving as a chaplain in the Alabama Army National Guard, before re-entering the active federal service as an Army chaplain.

In addition to this book, Mike has authored numerous articles for various publications. He has written a regular feature column for The Christian Advocate (formerly a news magazine for the Alabama-West Florida Conference of The United Methodist Church), and Christian Focus (a magazine of encouragement). He has also authored numerous devotional articles for miscellaneous local newspapers and newsletters. He has posted most of these on his web site, ParsonPlace.com. He has plans for other books, including a volume of inspirational poetry, which he hopes to publish in the near future. Mike married his wife, Ellen, in 1981. They have two children, Amy, who presently lives with her husband, Chris, and their baby, Makenzie, in Alabama, and Joshua, who is a 2004 high school graduate.
